Taylor Swift spent some quality time with the Deadpool 3 cast recently.
The major factor behind the rumour of Taylor Swift joining the MCU remains to be her iconic friendship with Ryan Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively.
Global pop icon Taylor Swift’s potential cameo in Deadpool 3 has sparked intense speculation on social media. Fans have picked up intriguing clues from her celebrity connections to fuel theories she could be a part of the upcoming Marvel film. The major factor remains to be her iconic friendship with the Deadpool master Ryan Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively. Rumour mills have it that Taylor could be a natural fit to play Dazzler, a musician superhero in the Marvel Comic universe. The mutant is capable of converting sound vibrations into light beams and having Taylor would be a cherry on top if added to the ensemble cast of Deadpool. While there has been no official confirmation about her cameo in the film, Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy candidly addressed the rumours while chatting with Josh Horowitz during his appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.
When the host asked if the word Dazzler has ever escaped his lip while being in the same room with Taylor Swift, Levy said, “It sure escapes the lips of social media every day and that’s all I’m going to say.” Following suit Josh asked whether the Blank Space hitmaker would play a good Dazzler even if it’s him or someone else directing. The Deadpool 3 filmmaker appreciated the thought, “Sounds like a great idea.” Upon being pressed to more details, Shawn likely denied Taylor has a cameo in the film without saying the words out loud.
“I’m literally I feel like oh wow I went to a football game a couple of weeks ago and I had a really good time with friends and I am thrilled to be talking about other things,” he expressed. The cameo rumours were fuelled when Taylor Swift once again had an all-star gathering at an NFL game. She was spotted in Manhattan with Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy and Hugh Jackman who returns as his X-Men superhero Wolverine aka Logan in the forthcoming film.
The star-studded group has spent quite a few get-togethers in recent weeks, the last one was at the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets NFL match to watch the Lover hitmaker cheering her new flame Travis Kelce.
Last year, Deadpool’s lead protagonist Ryan Reynolds revealed his thoughts about the ongoing Taylor Swift joining the MCU theories online. The actor denied she hasn’t joined the film’s cast but said he is open to the idea of the pop star joining the Marvel franchise. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Ryan said, “Are you kidding me? I would do anything for that woman. She’s a genius.”
Deadpool 3 is scheduled for release in May 2024.
