Tata Punch has emerged as the bestselling car in India in the January-July 2024 period, and it has managed to beat the Maruti Wagon R and Hyundai Creta that finished second and third, respectively. One of the reasons for the Punch’s success could be its multiple powertrain options that include petrol, CNG and EV.
- Punch emerges as the bestseller with 1.26 lakh units sold
- Wagon R finishes second with 1.16 lakh units sold
- Creta and Brezza come third and fourth, respectively
Tata Motors managed to sell about 1.26 lakh units of the Punch sub-compact SUV, as per data released by JATO Dynamics India. It was revealed that the electric and CNG powertrains made up 47 percent of the Punch’s total sales. The Wagon R finished second, with 1.16 lakh units sold from January-July 2024. The hatchback managed to overtake the SUV in February and July, and in the latter, it was by a mere 70 units.
It should be noted that the Wagon R has been India’s top-selling passenger car for three consecutive fiscal years, which makes it an even more commendable feat for the Punch.
