Aranmanai 4 stars Tamannaah Bhatia, Raashii Khanna, Yogi Babu among others in pivotal roles.
The Tamil movie series Aranmanai has seen three instalments to date. The horror comedy films, directed by Sundar C, have been big hits and have been praised for the perfect blend of horror elements with humour. With the fourth instalment in the pipeline, starring stellar actors like Raashii Khanna, Tamannaah Bhatia,Yogi Babu and VTV Ganesh, fans have been eagerly waiting for an update about the project. And finally, the makers are out with first poster.
On Friday, Tamannaah Bhatia shared the poster on her Instagram handle. The VFX laced poster showed a woman, clad in a saree, holding hands of a little girl and a little boy. The three characters seem to be looking directly at a spooky house, as they stand at the ajar black gates. Meanwhile, the sky is a perfect blend of flaming orange and frigid blue. She wrote, “Here is the smashing first look of the much awaited #Aranmanai4 Hold on to your seats, we’ll see you in Pongal 2024!”
Director Sundar C plays a significant part in each of the three movies. All of the movies were commercial successes and contributed to the emergence of the horror comedy subgenre in Tamil cinema. Though the stories don’t always relate to one another, they typically centre on an aranmanai (palace) that is inhabited by paranormal spirits.
Meanwhile, Tamannaah Bhatia opened up about South films in which ‘toxic masculinity is celebrated’ and shared that she has consciously decided to stay away from such movies. Tamannaah revealed she did some of the commercial movies in which she could not relate to characters and therefore had also asked the makers to ‘lower the intensity’.
“In the south, certain formulas are used because they are easy. In certain commercial films, I couldn’t relate to my characters and would request that the filmmaker lower the intensity. Having said that, I came to a point where I stopped doing those parts. I started making a conscious effort not to be part of such films where toxic masculinity is celebrated to the point where it is almost intolerable,” Tamannaah told Filmfare.
Tamannaah Bhatia rose to fame in Telugu and Tamil cinema with the 2007 movies Happy Days and Kalloori respectively. She made her Hindi debut with Himmatwala in 2013. She then featured in Baahubali: The Beginning , which is one of the biggest Indian blockbusters of all time. Tamannaah was recently seen in Lust Stories 2 and Jailer.
