Swathi Reddy was asked by a journalist to give clarity on the rumours about her divorce.
Actress Swathi Reddy is a known face in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam cinema. She is also referred to as Colours Swathi after she featured in the Telugu television show titled Colours, which aired on Maa TV. Currently, she is gearing up for the release of her upcoming movie, ‘Month of Madhu’.
She was recently present at the trailer launch of the movie, where she opened up on her divorce rumours. At the trailer launch in Hyderabad, Swathi Reddy was asked by a senior journalist to give clarity on the rumours that have surfaced regarding her divorce.
She promptly answered, “Nenu Ivva (I won’t give an answer). I started my career at 16, and I didn’t know how it would have been if social media existed back then.”
She further added, “I didn’t know how to conduct myself. But, now, I have some rules and regulations as a professional actor. I feel it’s not related to the event. I will not say anything about my personal life. So, I choose not to answer your question.”
Swathi married pilot Vikas Vasu in 2018. After her marriage, she stayed away from movies briefly and shifted abroad. Recently, she returned to India.
Swathi Reddy was last seen in the Telugu movie Panchathanthiram in 2022. She grabbed headlines when she deleted her marriage photos, which led to speculations of divorce. There are also rumours that she came to India to divorce her husband.
Swathi made her debut as an actress in the Tamil industry with Subramaniapuram in 2008. She was soon roped in for the Telugu movie Ashta Chamma, which earned her a Filmfare Award and Nandi Award for Best Actress. Her few notable works are Aadavari Matalaku Arthale Verule, Swamy Ra Ra, Amen and Karthikeya. She will soon be seen in Month of Madhu, which is slated for a release on October 6, 2023.
The movie is directed by Srikanth Nagothi and features Naveen Chandra and Swathi Reddy in lead roles.
