The last day to link PAN-Aadhaar is quickly approaching, and this week is the last day to do so. There is a possibility that a person’s permanent account number, or PAN, will cease to be valid if they do not link their PAN and Aadhaar before March 31.

How to link an Aadhaar card with a PAN using SMS is as follows:
Step 1: Type “UIDPAN > 10-digit PAN > 12-digit Aadhaar number >.”
Step 2: Use your registered mobile number to send this SMS to 567678 or 56161.

Using the Income Tax Department Portal, follow these steps to link an Aadhaar card to a PAN:

Step 1: Access the IT department’s e-filing portal at https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal/.
Step 2: Click the “Link Aadhaar” option in the “Quick Links” section.
Step 3: You will be currently diverted to another page where the PAN number, Aadhaar number, and other required subtleties like your name should be finished up.

These services will be affected if PAN is not linked to Aadhaar by March 31. They will not be able to file a tax return with an inoperative PAN. They will also not be able to process tax returns. They will not be able to issue tax refunds to people with inoperative PANs.

A higher rate of tax deduction will be required.
