Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan, directed by Atlee, was released in theatres on September 7. With rave reviews from both critics and audiences, the film has been shattering the box office with its massive collections. Amid the frenzy of the film, the makers organised a post-release event at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai, that was graced by Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and others. However, Nayanthara couldn’t make it to the event as it was her mother’s birthday. Acknowledging that, Shah Rukh Khan had a special birthday wish for her.
Walking on the stage, in a crisp, white shirt paired with a black blazer with a belt detailing near the waist as well as his long locks pulled back in braids, Shah Rukh Khan can be heard saying in the video, “Nayanthara Ji is not here. Because it’s her mother’s birthday.” The actor then croons the ‘Happy Birthday’ song.
“Thankyou Nayan Ji for being part of this film. And big thanks to Deepika Padukone, for being as lovely as a friend and everybody who has come today,” SRK concluded as he walked down to the crowd going wild screaming his name with excitement.
Even eight days after its release, Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan has refused to slow down at the box office. The film continues to earn in double digits and is now inching close to Rs 400 crore mark. As reported by the industry tracker Sacnilk, early estimates suggest that Jawan earned Rs 19.50 crore on Thursday, September 14. With this, the film’s total collection stands at Rs 388.72 crore. This also means that the Atlee directoral may cross the Rs 400 crore mark on Friday, September 15. Written and directed by Atlee, besides Shah Rukh Khan, the film alos stars Nayanthara, Ridhi Dogra and Vijay Sethupathi in key roles. Deepika Padukone also plays an extended cameo in the movie.
Jawan has broken several box office records ever since its release. It has become the best-ever Hindi opener at global box office and in the domestic market too. The film also holds the record of highest single-day earner of all time. It also became the first Hindi movie to enter Rs 200 crore club in just three days.
