It’s just today, that the world witnessed the endearing world of Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki with Dunki Drop 1 the first video unit! Released on the special occasion of Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday, Dunki Drop 1 indeed came as the best treat for the fans, and the madness of the same was well witnessed at the fan event held in Mumbai today where SRK saw the first video #DunkiDrop1 with the fans.
The fan event on the occasion of Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday was held in Mumbai and witnessed the presence of Dunki Director Rajkumar Hirani and writer Abhijat Joshi. When the film-maker was asked about his experience working with Shah Rukh Khan, Rajkumar Hirani recalled, “Before I tell how was it like working with him, I would like to tell a small story. Main film institute mein padhta tha, Nagpur se aaya tha. Toh waha jab passout hote ho toh badi anxiety hoti thi ki bahar jaake kaam kaun karega humare saath mein? Bade stars the jaise Bachchan Saab. Sochte the ye log kyu kaam karenge? Toh unn dino hostel mein TV hua karta tha toh usme Circus ka episode chal raha tha. Mujhe abhi tak yaad hai ek scene jaha platform pe a young actor was performing and there was a monologue. I was like kon hai ye? Ye bada aadmi nahi hai. Jab pass out karke niklunga toh isko sign kar lunga.”
The film-maker continued, “Mujhe do saal Lage graduate hone mein par tab tak ye itne bade ho chuke the ki koi chance hi nahi tha ye mere saath kaam kare.”
Shah Rukh Khan added, “Mere saath bhi yahi hua tha jab Raju Munna Bhai mein. I was like ‘Naya director hai kar hi lega’. Chaar mahine baad, che mahine baad kar lenge toh ye chala gaya. Fir 3 Idiots ke jab aaya, toh socha itna bhi bada nahi hua hoga, main bhi bada hogaya hu. Jab ye 3 Idiots ke liye chale gaye toh maine socha ab chance nahi lena. Toh iss baar Covid mein maine bubble mein pakad ke rakh lia ki kahi nahi jaane dunga, mere saath hi film banao. Dusre heroes se bhi nahi milne dia maine Raju ko. Abhi bhi allow nahi kia maine ki guest appearance na daal de. Toh meri story ye hai ki dono itne bade ho gaye ek dusre ke liye ki thoda time lag gaya. But ab itni choti aur pyaari film banayi hai jab humlog itne bade hogaye.”
Meanwhile the fans’ love for SRK was seen on an exceptionally grand level, the event witnessed an amazing performance by Canadian rapper and singer-songwriter, Tesher where SRK was also seen shaking his legs on the stage. The excitement among the fans for SRK’s next Dunki was well witnessed, while fans made huge posters of SRK wishing him ‘Happy Birthday’.
The fans were hooting and hailing the name of King Khan and created a gallery of SRK films celebrating the journey of the superstar in the entertainment industry.
