The new Splendor Plus variant gets a full digital meter and Bluetooth connectivity.

Hero MotoCorp has launched a new variant of its popular Splendor Plus commuter motorcycle called the Splendor Plus XTEC. The new variant is priced at Rs 72,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi), and gets several new features. The standard Splendor Plus i3s, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 70,700 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Hero Splendor Plus XTEC: what’s new?

The biggest talking point on the new Splendor Plus XTEC is its segment-first full digital meter with Bluetooth connectivity, which provides incoming and missed call alerts, message alerts, real-time fuel efficiency indicator, two trip meters and a low fuel level indicator. The XTEC is also equipped with an integrated USB port.

Safety features on the new Splendor Plus XTEC include a side-stand alert and a side-stand engine cut-off. Like the standard Splendor Plus, the XTEC also gets a bank-angle sensor which cuts off the engine in the event of a fall.

In terms of design, the Splendor Plus XTEC gets a new LED Daytime Running Lamp strip on top of the halogen headlight, new graphics and black alloys. It is also available in four new colour schemes – Sparkling Beta Blue, Canvas Black, Tornado Grey and Pearl White.

Hero Splendor Plus XTEC: mechanicals

The XTEC variant is mechanically identical to the standard Splendor Plus. It’s powered by a 7.9hp, 8.05Nm, 97.2cc, single-cylinder engine, and comes equipped with a 4-speed gearbox and Hero’s i3s auto start/stop tech.

Hero Splendor Plus XTEC: rivals

The Hero Splendor Plus XTEC rivals the likes of the Bajaj Platina, TVS Radeon and Honda CD 110 Deluxe.
