Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal tied the knot on June 23 at the actress’ Bandra residence in Mumbai. On the same night, the couple hosted a wedding reception for their friends.
Bollywood star Sonakshi Sinha is in a happy space. The actress is finally married to the love of her life, Zaheer Iqbal. The couple dated for seven years before opting for a civil marriage on June 23. Sonakshi is now back to work and busy promoting her new film Kakuda.
In a video, shared by Instant Bollywood, Sonakshi is seen having a fun chat with the paparazzi. When paps tell the actress “love you, ma’am,” she wittily replied, “meri shaadi ho gayi hai ab (I’m married now).” Sonakshi looked gorgeous in a brown-coloured blazer and satin skirt. She accessorised her look with a gold neck piece and a pair of gorgeous-looking danglers.
Meanwhile, Sonakshi and Zaheer on Wednesday shared some memorable moments from their wedding reception. In the video, shared by the newlyweds, Sonakshi and Zaheer were seen dancing their hearts out to old Bollywood songs such as “Teri Chunariya” and “Chhaiyya Chaiyya”.
The video begins with the newly married couple making a grand entry as they pose with the paparazzi. We then see Sonakshi hugging her best friend and actress Huma Qureshi, posing with Kajol for a selfie, performing Anil Kapoor’s ‘My Name Is Lakhan’ hook step, hugging Salman Khan and then consoling an emotional Rekha by telling her “Rona mat (Don’t cry)” as the veteran actress tears up looking at the new bride.
Lately, Sonakshi has been facing a backlash for her inter-faith marriage with Zaheer. The newlyweds have even switched off comments on their wedding photos on Instagram to avoid unwarranted hate during their special occasion.
