Skoda will soon launch the new Onyx Edition of the Kushaq in India. Courtesy of our dealer sources, we have learnt that the SUV has now reached dealerships. The Kushaq Onyx Edition gets styling updates on the outside and is only available with the 1.0-litre turbo petrol powertrain. The Kushaq, so far, has had a successful run in India and became the first midsize SUV, alongside the Taigun, to score a full 5-star safety rating under the new GNCAP testing protocols.

Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition exterior, interior details
The Onyx Edition of the Kushaq gets the same exterior colour options as the standard model. However, the differences include the subtle ‘Onyx’ badging on the B-pillar and stylised grey graphics across the doors. Apart from these changes, the Kushaq Onyx Edition’s exterior highlights include the faux diffuser element on the front bumper, chrome surround across the front grille and 16-inch wheels with plastic covers.
The interior of the Kushaq Onyx Editon sees no major changes either; it sports black fabric upholstery, a dual tone grey/white interior, a two-spoke steering wheel, chrome surrounds for the AC vents and a textured pattern on the dashboard.
Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition engine, gearbox and features
As the Kushaq Onyx Edition sits between the entry-level Active and mid-spec Ambition Classic trims, it is only available with the 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. The unit, which puts out 115hp and 175Nm of torque, is only available with a 6-speed manual and no automatic transmission option.
When it comes to features, the Kushaq Onyx Edition gets additional equipment over the base Active trim. This includes LED projector headlights, fog lamps, a rear wiper with a washer, a rear defogger, and automatic climate control.
Other highlights include the 7-inch touchscreen, rear AC vents, 6 speakers, adjustable head restraints and a height-adjustable driver’s seat. The safety equipment on the Kushaq Onyx Edition includes traction control, dual airbags, ESC, ISOFIX anchorages and TPMS.
