Siddharth Anand 'Proud' That Ayan Mukerji Is Directing War 2: 'My Creation Is So Important To Somebody Else' –

Director Siddharth Anand is proud that Ayan Mukerji is now directing War 2, the sequel to his movie War.

Director Siddharth Anand is proud that Ayan Mukerji is now directing War 2, the sequel to his movie War. War was the third film in the YRF Spy Universe, featuring Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff, and Vaani Kapoor. Earlier in 2023, Ayan Mukerji had said in a statement, “I also have another piece of news to share…The Universe has presented me with a very special opportunity recently – a very special movie – to step into and direct! What the movie is…more on that when the time is right.”

In an interview with Galatta Plus, when asked about War 2, Siddharth said, “I feel a sense of pride. I feel a sense of pride that my creation is so important to somebody else. It’s the only pride I feel. It’s like a baby, your son flourishing in somebody else’s company. It’s like my son is not working in Marflix but is heading some other company. So it’s that kind of pride that I’ve created something that is worthy enough of someone else to take over.”

Siddharth Anand said he wanted to direct War 2, and they talked about it internally. However, the schedules didn’t match, leading to an overlap.

Meanwhile, it is also being speculated if War 2 is the reason that Ayan has postponed Brahmastra 2. In an exclusive interview with Showsha last year, Ayan talked about Bhramastra- Part Two: Dev and shared that he planned to release the film in three years (which means by 2025).

“The basic storyline of part two and part three has always been in place. The entire concentration so far was on Brahmastra – Part One: Shiva as that was the foundation film in the trilogy. Our goal is to make the film in a much shorter period. The idea is to come out with the film in three years,” he had said.
