Shefali Shah opens up on her Emmy Nomination for Delhi Crime 2.

Shefali Shah recently opened up on bagging an Emmy Nomination for Delhi Crime Season 2.

Shefali Shah has come a long way in showbiz. The actress, who’s brought in a strong change in the portrayal of women in Indian cinema, earned massive fame and success after playing the role of DCP Vartika Chaturvedi in ‘Delhi Crime’. Her exceptional acting skills earned her an Emmy Nomination in the Best Actress category for the show’s second season.

Reacting to her Emmy nod, Shefali exclusively told Showsha, “Well, I’d like to grant people, the audience as well as people from our industry far more intelligence and sensitivity and sensibility that they don’t just appreciate me, because I have an Emmy nomination.”

She continued, “But yeah, having said that, the Emmy nomination is a validation and I can’t that take away from it and I am extremely honoured.”

Sharing an update on the third season of Delhi Crime, Shefali said, “We’d be doing Delhi Crime Season 3, but it’s still in the writer’s room.”

Back in 2020, Delhi Crime went on to become the first Indian show to win an Emmy Award. The show bagged the prestigious award, in the ‘Best Drama’ Category.

In a previous interview with Showsha, Shefali Shah admitted that she found more success, recognition and satisfaction as an actor ever since the OTT boom happened. “Firstly, you get eight hours of film over two hours of film. Secondly, you don’t need to be a star to be an actor on OTT, because the characters are so strong, you need actors for it. So someone put me up there, saying she will lead the show. And things have changed since then. People are putting me in leads and parallel leads. This has been a turning point of my career. It has been my learning curve. It has been my professional growth since Delhi Crime,” she said.
