Shah Rukh Khan’s fans are waiting with bated breath for the actor to come back on screen with Pathaan. The film which will release in January next year also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in pivotal roles. While fans wait for an update on the film, reports have started doing the rounds that the Siddharth Anand directorial might have a sequel. Yes, you heard that right!
If a report in ETimes is anything to go by, SRK’s film will be followed by a sequel which will introduce more new characters. Producer Aditya Chopra also has plans to turn it into a franchise. The publication quoted a source as saying, “The team of Pathaan has begun writing the sequel to the film and like the Tiger films, the story will travel to various countries.”
Meanwhile, Salman Khan will also be making a cameo in Pathaan and SRK will have a cameo in Salman’s Tiger 3. The first looks of SRK, Deepika and John has already been unveiled but the makers are yet to drop the teaser and the trailer of Pathaan.
Billed as ‘a high-octane spy thriller,’ Pathaan is directed by Siddharth Anand of ‘War’ and ‘Bang Bang’ fame.

Last month, SRK dropped a shirtless photo as he waited for Pathaan along with his fans. In the picture, he can be seen sitting on a couch with only his trousers on. He sports long, messy hair and is wearing beads on his wrist. Sharing the photo, he wrote, “Me to My Shirt today: ‘Tum hoti toh kaisa hota…. Tum iss baat pe hairaan hoti, Tum iss baat pe kitni hansti…….Tum hoti toh aisa hota..’ Me also waiting for #Pathaan.”
