“India is a top growth market for ServiceNow and we are seeing larger local organisations partnering with us to benefit from the power of our platform to drive their digital transformation needs,” said Arun Balasubramanian, managing director of India and the SAARC region. “ServiceNow is committed to manage data locally and meet India’s data protection and sovereignty standards,” he added.
This comes as the Indian government is proposing mandatory storing and processing of certain types of user data, collected by both Indian and foreign companies, in data centres within the country’s borders.
The Personal Data Protection Bill, which has provisions on data localisation has been pending before the Indian Parliament.

The California-based company also said around 18,000 people will be trained and certified in India by the end of 2022 in ServiceNow products, together with partners and customers, to meet the growing demand.
