Sanjay Dutt opens up serving jail time.
Sanjay Dutt recently revisited his jail time during a shoot. The actor will soon be seen in Leo.
Back in 2013, Sanjay Dutt was arrested in an arms case related to the 1993 Bombay bomb blasts in which more than 200 people were killed. It was only in 2016, the actor was released from prison. Recollecting the hard time, Sanjay in an episode of ‘Star vs Food Survival’ recollected that it was a ‘difficult time in his life’.
He shared, “The first time I went to jail if you see the photographs outside Thane jail – Anna, Akshay, Ajay, Shah Rukh, everybody came and wished me well.” He added, “I had no respite from serving jail time, so why overthink it? I had to make up my mind that yes I had to go. I have to face it. In six years, I faced it, managed it, made the most out of it, and learned from it. I used that time to learn cooking, scriptures, and working out. I came out with a better physique.”
Dutt was in jail for almost 42 months of his five-year sentence as he had been in prison for 18 months during the trial. Dutt was lodged in the Yerawada prison in May 2013 to undergo remainder of his sentence after being convicted for illegal possession of arms under the Arms Act. He was arrested on April 19, 1993, for possession and destruction of an AK-56 rifle.
Coming back to Star Vs Food Survival, the actor shared, “After my delightful journey on Star vs Food Survival, I’ve uncovered a fresh recipe for life—one that revolves around relishing each moment with loved ones and savouring the bonds we share. Collaborating with my dear friend Suniel Shetty has infused this experience with a special essence, rekindling precious memories that I’ll cherish for a lifetime. Food, friendship, and laughter—truly the perfect ingredients for a beautiful life!”
Meanwhile on the work front, Sanjay Dutt will soon be seen in Leo. The film is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and is one of the most awaited movies of this year. The actor would be seen sharing screen space with Thalapathy Vijay, Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Sarja, Gautham Menon, Mysskin and Priya Anand. Leo will hit theatres on October 19.
