Samantha Ruth Prabhu gave a stellar review to Kaathal The Core. The film stars Mammootty and Jyotika in the lead.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu has praised the recently released Malayalam film Kaathal – The Core. The actress revealed she watched the Mammootty and Jyotika starrer and was loved the film. She called Kaathal the ‘movie of the year’. She also showered the Malayalam superstar and the actress with compliments. For the unversed, Kaathal released on Friday, November 24, and has opened to impressive reviews.
“Movie of the year. Do yourself a favour and watch this beautiful yet powerful gem of a film. Mammootty sir, you are my hero. I will not be able to get over this performance for a long time. Jyotika, love youuu,” Samantha wrote, sharing the poster of the film. She also praised director Jeo Baby.
Kaathal: The Core is positioned as a legal drama. The narrative revolves around Mathew Devassy (Mammootty), entangled in a contest for a by-election in Ward 3. The trailer had revealed the story will explore legal troubles and family conflicts, particularly with his wife Omana (Jyotika).
Speaking with The Times of India, Kaathal The Core’s director Jeo said, “It is for the first time that I am working on a script that is not my own. But I heard the story and liked it and felt that it would be good if Mammukka played the lead and he too liked it. We were considering options for his wife and Mammukka suggested Jyotika and she too, liked the story and said yes”.
Meanwhile, Samantha is on a break from acting. The actress was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease myositis and has been taking medical help for the same. Nevertheless, she will soon be seen in Citadel India. Directed by Raj & DK, the series is a spinoff on Priyanka Chopra’s Citadel. Samantha will be seen with Varun Dhawan in the film. The actress has not signed any other project yet.
