The comment comes months after Samantha Ruth Prabhu was trolled for her alleged ‘fake accent’ at the London premiere of Citadel.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu admitted that social media trolling isn’t easy. The Kushi actress was speaking to Harper’s Bazaar recently when she opened up on online negativity and recalled being trolled for presenting her ‘true self, weaknesses and strengths’ on social media.
“It isn’t easy, but I think I’ve hit a sweet spot in my relationship with social media. It’s enormously fulfilling for me to be my true self, show weaknesses, strengths, and all of the in-between. Of course, ask me again in another week when something I have said or posted incorrectly explodes and I become the target for another trolling fest and I might have changed my mind, but as of now it’s sort of a sweet spot,” Samantha said.
Interestingly, this comes months after Samantha was trolled for her alleged ‘fake accent’ at the London premiere of Citadel. The actress attended the event with Varun Dhawan in April this year when one of the users shared her video on the microblogging site X and wrote, “I adore her a lot but the way she is faking her accent. She should have spoken in Indian accent only.”
Meanwhile, Samantha is currently on a break from acting is battling an autoimmune condition called Myositis. Recently, the actress shared a glimpse of her Cryotherapy in which she was seen standing in a tub-like thing and meditating.
On the work front, Samantha was last seen in Kushi, the romantic drama which also starred Vijay Deverakonda in the lead. The film gained mixed reviews from all and earned over Rs 70 crore at the box office. Next, Samantha will be seen in the Indian version of Citadel which also stars Varun Dhawan. It is helmed by Raj and DK and the team is staying tight-lipped about its plot. However, earlier this year, Priyanka Chopra opened up about the Indian remake of her show and revealed that the storylines are connected to each other.
