A documentary on Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar, better known as the duo Salim-Javed, was announced in 2021.
Is the Salim-Javed documentary is back in the making? Salim Khan’s latest appearance with his family at Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment office has sparked the rumours that the documentary might be on the way. On Wednesday evening, Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan was spotted with his wife Salma Khan and other members of the Khan family, including Arbaaz Khan and his son Arhaan Khan, at the Excel office. The Khan family were seen maintaining a low profile as they made their way to the office for what seems to be a secret meeting.
For the meeting, Salim Khan was seen wearing an all-white outfit while Arhaan appeared to be just returning from gym. The video of their visit has surfaced online. Check it out below:
Back in 2021, it was announced that a documentary on Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar’s lives and work together will be released. The documentary was titled “Angry Young Men”. At the time, Farhan had said, “The narrative is about two people who came to the film industry from different backgrounds, how they got together and created this unbelievable brand of star writers that the film industry has never been able to replicate after they decided not to work together. It talks about what made them an incredible force in (Hindi cinema).”
Arbaaz had also opened up about the documentary. He told PTI, “Initially, I had thought of doing it as a personal thing for my father, for our family. I had never thought of putting it out there. I wanted to make it for our future generation so that they come to know what their grandfather was all about. I wanted to shoot a private docu-drama on him.”
“These two gentlemen will be interviewed. Their lives, work, and experiences will be spoken about. Some of the people who have worked with them will also be interviewed. Their movies and scenes will be discussed. This is something that’s great for the archives. Salim-Javed have done such great work over the years. Documenting their lives and careers would be a wonderful thing. It’ll be for posterity, not just for our family but for film lovers,” he said at the time.
However, there has not been an update about the documentary since.
