Royal Enfield Meteor 350 becomes bestseller in the UK

Royal Enfield has posted sales figures of 1,135 units for the Meteor 350 in the UK between January and July 2022, overtaking the BMW R 1250 GS and becoming the bestselling bike above 125cc. The motorcycle is manufactured at Royal Enfield’s plant in Chennai.

The big Bavarian adventure tourer has been a perennial favourite in the overseas market but the simple, easy-going cruiser from Royal Enfield has managed to dethrone it. The Meteor 350 was the first model from Royal Enfield to feature the brand-new J-series engine. Two more models followed soon after, in the form of Royal Enfield’s bestseller, the Classic 350, and the nimble neo-retro roadster, the Hunter 350. In all these machines, the engine makes identical output figures – 20.2hp and 27Nm of torque. 

This isn’t the first time a Royal Enfield has been at the top of the UK sales charts, with the Interceptor 650 being the previous model from the iconic marque to do so. A new Continental GT 650 test mule was spotted testing with alloy wheels, which hints that a major update is on the way for the 650 twins.
