Rose and Bruno Mars’ latest song APT recently touched a milestone by crossing 500 million views on YouTube in just a month.
BLACKPINK star Rose and Bruno Mars‘ latest collaborative track, APT, has officially crossed 500 million views on YouTube, making it the fastest K-pop song ever to hit the mark. Earlier, the title was held by the BTS song Dynamite for more than four years. It has been on a record-breaking spree since APT came out, with fans chanting along the track as they completely adore it.
While fans worldwide celebrate the song’s historic achievement, social media has indulged in a different discussion altogether, leaving room for many questions.
An X user reacted to the song’s 500 million views in over a month and questioned if this could actually happen. “Is this even possible man???”
In the series of tweets, the user went on to claim that the views were purchased on YouTube through hiring traffic and creating fake views. “Music video with no audio. If you dig deep, you will see that they have one record they’re trying to break or set. That’s why they’re farming aggressively like that 500m una. Nothing fits, makes me believe I am! “You know, MJ is now,” one of his tweets read. The user also highlighted how songs like Blinding Lights got 885 million views in four years, As It Was got 788 million views in two years, and Stay and Calm Down got 1 billion views in 2 years, whereas APT managed 500 million views in just a month. “There’s no way you pull 500m views in a month without massive YouTube ads right now! Let’s be serious, pls,” he continued.
In response to the claim, many users flocked to the comment section and shared mixed reactions. While some found enough logic in his tweets, others argued how BLACKPINK and Bruno Mars’s popularity helped in the views. A user wrote, “Bro I don’t even trust their streams anymore, even when YouTube was the number 1 streaming platform no artist can pull this kind streams talk less of now that YouTube has fell off. I think it’s bolts stream these artists are using on Spotify and YouTube.”

On the other hand, a BLACKPINK fan advocated, “Yes, she’s part of the biggest girl group that is the #1 most subscribed artist rn. they get these numbers with every single comeback, from their solos to their groups music videos. just cus you’re not on youtube doesn’t mean it’s “dead” while youtube is the #1 most streamed app.”

Another added, “She’s in the biggest kpop girl group , they literally were the first girl group to hit 1b views on YouTube, trust her views are real.”

Despite the criticism, there seems to be no stopping for APT, as the track has reached unmatched across various streaming platforms. Besides YouTube, it has also collected 500 million streams on Spotify in just 45 days.
