Rasika Dugal, known for intense roles, showcased her versatility and comic timing in the comedy-drama Lootcase, which clocked 4 years today, July 31. Directed by Rajesh A Krishnan, the film also starred Kunal Kemmu, Vijay Raaz, Gajraj Rao and Ranvir Shorey in lead roles. The film marked a significant milestone in the actress’ career as it was her first venture into the comedy genre.
To celebrate the film’s fourth anniversary, the actress took to social media and treated her Insta fam with some stills from the film. The post was accompanied by a heartfelt caption that read, “So many Rangs (colours) in the life of this family #4YearsOfLootcase. Been 4 years to this one and I have had a special affinity for red suitcases ever since!”
Rasika’s caption also hinted that Rasika might appear in another comic role soon. She added,“C’mon now let’s do some more comedy #PuttingItOutThere.”
In Lootcase, Raskia portrayed the role of Lata, a homemaker and wife of Nandan Kumar (played by Kunal Kemmu). The film earned widespread appreciation from fans and critics for its humour and intriguing storyline, making it one of the first comedy films to receive such attention amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the lockdown, the film was released directly on OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar.
Soon after the Mirzapur actress shared the post, fans and admirers flooded the comment section with lots of reactions. An Instagram user wrote, “Nice movie. Nice acting..Nice direction by Rajesh sir.” Another commented, “The movie was such a surprise box to the fans and loved by many. Superb performances all around.” While some fans asked to make a sequel to Lootcase, a comment read, “Please make a second part.”
Apart from Lootcase, the actress is known for her performances in Mirzapur Seasons 1, 2 and 3, Delhi Crime, Out Of Love, A Suitable Boy, Made in Heaven, No Smoking and Lust Stories. She was recently seen in the third season of Mirzapur alongside Ali Fazal, Shweta Tripathi, Vijay Varma and Pankaj Tripathi. The show premiered on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video.
Rasika will be next seen in the upcoming mystery-thriller series Shekhar Home alongside Kay Kay Menon and Ranvir Shorey. The show will be streaming on the OTT platform JioCinema from August 14.
