Rani Mukerji Says Black Was A 'Humbling & Educational Experience' On Film's 19th Anniversary –

Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukerji’s iconic film Black has completed 19 years today.

Rani Mukerji is a versatile actress and has given some notable performances over the decades she has spent in the film industry. She has surely mastered the craft, and aspiring actors have a lot to learn from her consistency and knowledge about cinema. Among her other films, the 2005 movie Black stands as an exceptional masterpiece. The intense role and accurate depiction of a young girl with speech and hearing impairment won Rani several acclamations. In her latest interview, the actress revealed that the film changed her as an actor and as a person.

On Black’s 19th anniversary, Rani Mukerji didn’t shy away from talking about the impact of the film. She told Mid-Day,”Black’ had a profound impact on my life as an actor and as an individual. Even the most basic tasks required sign language, which was a very humbling and educational experience. I will always hold a special place in my heart for ‘Black,’ as it taught me a lot about life and gratitude.”

She added, “Working with Amit uncle was of course one of the most memorable moments of my life to be able to share screen space with him and getting an opportunity to watch him delivering his best performance was in itself like a masterclass for me. And of course, working with my favourite director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Black,’ I believe, is one of Sanjay’s greatest works as a filmmaker! What he did with ‘Black,’ is something that generations of actors, film enthusiasts, and audiences will be able to witness his brilliance for years to come. Black has remained one of the tent pole films for me, that will always be attached to my name forever. I’m most happy about the fact that finally it’s releasing on one of the best platforms and people who missed watching it will be able to see the magic of Black’ now at the click of a button.”

Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukerji’s iconic film Black has completed 19 years today and on this special occasion the makers have released the film on OTT platform, Netflix. The good news was shared by Amitabh Bachchan. He took to his social media handle to share a video and made the announcement. In no time it went viral and fans were seen expressing their excitement in the comment section.
