Ranbir Kapoor’s next is a mythological drama
Reportedly, Ranbir and Sai will start shooting for the film Ramayan around the month of February 2024.
Ranbir Kapoor is currently in the headlines for breaking all records at the box office since Animal was released. The actor has been getting praise from all corners for his performance. Fans are hailing him in his never-before-seen before avatar. Well, ahead of the Animal release, there was a report claiming that his next will be the mythological drama Ramayan. And now there is a new update that Ranbir will be leaving for Los Angeles for the technical rehearsal of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayan.
ETimes in its report has mentioned that as part of the pre-production process for Ramayan. Ranbir Kapoor is set to visit the VFX office of DNEG in LA early next year. In January 2024, he will engage in technical rehearsals, expected to last a couple of weeks, primarily focusing on pre-visualisation. Earlier, Pinkvilla reported, “Nitesh Tiwari and team have been working actively on creating the world of Ramayana and the blueprint is finally all ready. The VFX plates are prepared by the Oscar Winning Company, DNEG and it’s a world that would blow away the minds of audiences. However, the strength of Ramayana won’t be the visual but the simplistic storytelling and compelling inter-character emotions.”
The source added, “Ranbir and Sai will start shooting for the film around the month of February 2024. The first part of the trilogy will focus more on Lord Ram and Sita, leading towards the conflict of Sita Haran. The duo will be shooting for the film from February till August 2024, before calling it a wrap for Ramayana: Part One.”
“Yash has a rather extended appearance in Ramayana: Part One, however, his character will dominate the proceedings in the second part, which is set in Sri Lanka. He has allotted 15 days to shoot for Ramayana: Part One,” the source was quoted as saying.
Ranbir Kapoor will play the role of Ram and Sai Pallavi will essay the role of Sita in the film. Yash will play the role of Ravana. The three actors have reportedly completed their look tests for the film. Backed by Madhu Mantena as the producer, the trilogy will be helmed by Nitesh Tiwari as the director.
