Besides Ranbir Kapoor, Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana will also see Sai Pallavi as Sita.
Ranbir Kapoor has opened up about playing the role of lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s most-awaited film, Ramayana. Recently, the actor was speaking at the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah when he expressed feeling ‘humbled’ to play lord Ram and mentioned that it is like a dream come true for him.
“I am currently working on Ramayana, which is the greatest story around. My childhood friend Namit Malhotra, somebody who is so passionately making this book, has got the best of all the artistes, all the creative people, the crew. It is directed by Nitesh Tiwari,” Ranbir said.

The actor further revealed that he has wrapped up shooting for Ramayana’s first part and will begin shoot for part two soon. “It has two parts. I have finished the shooting of Part 1 and will shoot Part 2 soon. Just to be a part of that story, I am so humbled to essay Ram’s role. It’s a dream for me. It’s a film that has everything. It teaches what Indian culture is about — family dynamics and husband-wife dynamics,” he added.
Besides Ranbir Kapoor, Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana will also see Sai Pallavi as Sita. The film will also star Yash as Ravana. The actor is also co-producing the movie. “If the character is treated like a character… if this doesn’t happen today, then the film won’t happen. To make a film with that kind of budget, you need those kinds of actors to come together,” Yash told the Hollywood Reporter India recently.
Arun Govil and Lara Dutta are also playing key roles in the film. Reportedly, the makers have also roped in Sunny Deol for the role of Hanuman. However, there is no official confirmation regarding this as of now.
Ramayana’s first part will hit theatres on Diwali 2026 whereas part two will be out on Diwali 2027.
