Bobby Deol has revealed that his character Abrar and Ranbir Kapoor’s Ranvijay were supposed to share a kiss in the Animal climax scene but it was removed by the director.
Ever since the release of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, the film has become the talk of the town for several reasons. Now, Bobby Deol has revealed that his character Abrar and Ranbir Kapoor’s Ranvijay were supposed to share a kiss in the climax scene but the director removed it.
Bobby Deol Was Supposed To Kiss Ranbir Kapoor In Animal Climax
Bobby Deol was speaking to The Quint when he revealed, “There are these two brothers, they want to kill each other, but there’s a love that they have for each other. I’m going to shoot the climax sequence with a song playing in the background, which is about love.”
However, the actor argued that the kissing scene might be included in the film’s Netflix version, which is expected to be longer than the film’s theatrical run time. “He said, ‘You’re fighting, and you suddenly kiss him, and then you don’t give up, and he kills you’. But he removed the kiss. There was a kiss. I think it might come on the uncut Netflix version. After saying all this, he said, ‘You’re mute’,” Deol added.
Bobby Deol Lying On Ranbir Kapoor Was Vanga’s Idea
A scene from Animal climax features Bobby Deol lying on top of Ranbir Kapoor without clothes. Talking about the same, Deol revealed that was Vanga’s idea. “Both their families love each other. We are family. There is love for each other’s brothers. But that moment was also Sandeep’s idea. We were doing the fight sequence, practicising for it, and then he said, ‘You know what Bobby, I want you to punch him and lie on top of him’. It was more about me being powerful. Obviously, the hero always wins in the end. And the shot of me unzipping, it was his idea. He brings that alpha thing to every character,” he said.
What Do We Know About Animal?
Animal revolves around a man and his toxic relationship with his father. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, it shows Vijay (played by Ranbir) as an anti-hero who would go to any lengths to protect his father. However, despite his efforts, he struggles to get a seal of approval from his emotionally unavailable father (played by Anil Kapoor). His unhealthy relationship with his father impacts his relationship with his wife (played by Rashmika Mandanna). The film has also been accused of glorifying misogyny and toxic masculinity by several social media users. Despite everything, the film is going immensely well at the box office. It is inching close to the Rs 500 crore mark at the Indian box office.
