Sapta Sagaradaache Ello’s box office performance was average. Now that it is doing well on OTT, the film is expected to reach out to a more diverse audience.
Films which are initially released in theatres, their OTT releases are also nothing less than a grand event. OTT release dates are announced by the makers well in advance. However, such was not the case with the Kannada film Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side A.
The film quietly made its OTT premiere in the early hours of September 29, without any prior announcement. It is now available on Amazon Prime Video in 5 different languages. You can watch it in all four South Indian languages as well as in Hindi.
Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side A has been one of the most talked about films on social media. #SaptaSagaradaacheEllo is still a hot keyword. It’s fascinating to note that viewers have expressed their admiration for a number of different facets of the movie.
Actress Rukmini Vasanth received special praise for her “expressive eyes”. Her chemistry with leading man Rakshit Shetty was also praised throughout the theatrical run. Everyone keeps mentioning Charan Raj’s music and background score, as well as Advaitha Gurumurthy’s cinematography. Interestingly, a number of viewers have also started praising writer-director Hemanth M Rao for his subtle writing.
Hemanth wrote the story while helping with Puneeth Rajkumar’s Prithvi. Over the years, the plot underwent a number of alterations, which he and co-author Gundu Shetty later refined.
Despite the positive reviews, Sapta Sagaradaache Ello only appealed to a small section of the audience. Its box office performance was average. Now that it is doing well on OTT, Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side A is expected to reach out to a more diverse audience. All eyes are now fixed towards the release of Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B, which is slated for October 27. The date had earlier been declared to be October 20, but it was then postponed by a week.
