Raj Kundra has revealed how he started his career from London at the age of 18.
Raj Kundra is currently gearing up for his acting debut with a film titled UT – 69. The movie is based on the time Raj spent in jail in 2022 after he was arrested in connection to a pornography case. In a recent pap interaction, the businessman-turned-actor said that he was once a cab driver in London.
In a video posted by a popular paparazzo, Raj, whose film poster featured on a taxi, can be heard asking a pap, “Haanji bhaisaab, kaha jaana hai apko? Lajpatnagar? Chalo, main le ke jaata hoon. Aise hee meri journet shuru huyi thi – 18 saal ki umar mein. Taxi chalaya karta tha – woh bhi London mein. Aur aaj apne hee taxi wrapped poster ke andar baitha hu. Kitna achha lag raha hai to see my poster outside the car. This is the circle of life, no? (“Yes, sir, where do you want to go? Lajpat Nagar? Alright, I’ll take you there. That’s how my journey began – at the age of 18. I used to drive a taxi in London. And today, I am sitting inside a taxi wrapped with my own poster. It feels amazing to see my poster outside the car).” Check out the video here:
In a recent interview, the businessman revealed that his actress wife Shilpa Shetty had suggested they should move abroad after the pornography case but it was he who decided not to.
“My wife was actually the first person to say, ‘Do you want to live abroad Raj? You left everything in London, you were born and brought up there, you moved here because I wanted to be here. But if you want, I can make things work and let’s leave the country, let’s go abroad.’ I told her that I love India and won’t leave. Log bade bade kaand kar ke, hazarao crore kamake desh se nikal jaata hai (people do big crimes, take thousands of crores and leave country), but I have done nothing so I won’t leave the country,” he told Indianexpress.com.
Raj Kundra was arrested in July 2021 in connection to the alleged creation and uploading of pornographic films on mobile applications. He was granted bail after almost two months.
