R Madhavan To Star In Mithran’s Next Titled Adhirshtasaali –


The film is being dubbed as a romantic comedy.


The shooting for the film started a few days ago.

Actor R Madhavan is set to take on a new project under the direction of Mithran Jawahar, and the actor has expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming film. The project, titled Adhirshtasaali, is helmed by Mithran Jawahar, known for directing films like Yaaradi Nee Mohini and Thiruchitrambalam, both featuring Dhanush.

Reports reveal that Madhavan, impressed by Jawahar’s work, reached out to congratulate him after watching Thiruchitrambalam. During their conversation, Madhavan expressed his interest in Jawahar’s upcoming family entertainer, where he plays the protagonist alongside Shreya Mandre as the female lead. Additionally, Radhikaa Sarathkumar is set to portray Madhavan’s mother in the film.

The shooting for Adhirshtasaali commenced in Chennai a few days ago but faced a temporary halt due to adverse weather conditions. The production is slated to resume next week. Described as a romantic comedy, the film is produced by Mediaone Global Entertainment Limited, with Jeyamohan credited as the scriptwriter.

Madhavan took to his Instagram handle to announce the film, sharing a video from Scotland where he expressed his excitement for the project. The caption read, “Start of a new Tamil Film. #Adhirshtasaali #scotland.”

R Madhavan was last seen in the newly released Netflix web series titled The Railway Men, which was based on the 1984 Bhopal Gas Tragedy. Apart from that his directorial debut film, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect was recently given the National Award for Best Feature Film.

Director Mithran Jawahar began his career as an assistant director to filmmaker Selvaraghavan. His directorial debut, Yaaradi Nee Mohini, featuring Dhanush and Nayanthara, was released in 2008. Subsequently, he delivered two more successful films with Dhanush, titled Kutty and Uthamaputhiran in 2010.

Their fourth collaboration, Thiruchitrambalam, was released last year, also starring Nithya Menen, Bharathiraja, Prakash Raj, Raashii Khanna, and Priya Bhavani Shankar. Produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures, the film, with music by Anirudh Ravichander, became one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of 2022, collecting Rs 110 crore at the box office.
