Priyanka Chopra opens up on her Bollywood comeback.
In a recent conversation, Priyanka Chopra opened up about the difference between Bollywood and Hollywood. She also revealed what she misses about the Hindi film industry.
Desi Girl Priyanka Chopra has come a long way in her career. The actress has proven her mettle with her brilliant acting skills, not just in Bollywood movies, but also in numerous Hollywood projects. Having been a part of both Bollywood and Hollywood, she recently shared what she feels is the major difference between the two industries. When asked about her comeback in Bollywood films, the Citadel actress revealed she has been assessing a lot of scripts.
In a conversation with Forbes India, Priyanka Chopra talked about the difference between Hollywood and Bollywood. She said that every country is different, and have their own cultural ways and things. The big difference, she pointed out, is that Hollywood has a lot of paperwork. “100 emails that will come to you before the next day. Timings are very specific… it depends on what time you wrapped the night before. There’s no room to play unless you are working with a filmmaker like that. It is really tight and very organized,” said Priyanka.
She then added that there’s a lot more ‘jugaad’ in Bollywood. “We are a little romantic. We have a lot more ‘jugaad’ and get stuff done. We are like a little romantic about it like ‘Arey ho jayega, kar lenge,’ so it is a very different way of working but that is also true to the countries themselves,” said Priyanka. When asked if she misses this ‘jugaad’, PeeCee said, “No. I miss dancing and singing and speaking in Hindi. I miss slow motion dancing and I miss speaking in Hindi. Or like speaking another language.”
On being asked when fans can hope to see her back in Bollywood, Priyanka Chopra said, “I’m telling everyone…come to me with something right. I have been assessing a lot of scripts and I have been hoping to lock something in soon.”
On the professional front, Priyanka Chopra was last seen in the rom-com Love Again, co-starring Sam Heughan and Celine Dion. She will next star alongside John Cena and Idris Elba in the film Heads Of State. She also has Citadel 2 in the pipeline.
