Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Isha Ambani will be hosting an opening night gala on day of MAMI. In all probability, the three Khans might also attend the event.
After three years, Jio MAMI Mumbai Festival is back with a physical event this year. It is set to run from October 27 to November 5 at the city’s prestigious multi-cultural centre, Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre. Much like every year, this edition too promises to be a star-studded event with the who’s who of the Hindi film industry under one roof. Priyanka Chopra Jonas, the chairperson of MAMI, will be flying down to Mumbai to grace the festival. Joining her will be Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, the brand ambassador of Word To Screen, along with several other names like Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Rana Daggubati, Kabir Khan, Vishal Bhardwaj, Vikramaditya Motwane and Riteish Deshmukh.
And now Showsha has learnt that a starry night is all set to be rolled out on the first day of the festival, which see some of the biggest names of Bollywood coming together. The event on the opening night will be hosted by Priyanka and Isha Ambani (Executive Director, Reliance Retail Ventures Limited and Director, Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited).
A well-informed source exclusively tells us, “The gala will be a night to remember. The biggest stars, filmmakers and starlets will be a part of the big opening night. The Ambanis are known to host some of the most memorable parties in town and this will be another interesting addition to the list. And when you have Priyanka Chopra joining hands with them and inviting some of the most popular stars and her friends from showbiz, one can imagine how impressive the turn out will be.”
The source further informs us like biggies like Sonakshi Sinha, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Janhvi Kapoor are a few names who will be attending the gala event. “Apart from them, filmmakers like Tahira Kashyap and Konkona Sensharma and newbies like Khushi Kapoor and Suhana Khan are also expected. In all probability, the Khan trifecta – Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan – might also be a part of it,” adds the source.
On a related note, this year’s Jio MAMI Mumbai Festival will focus on south-Asian filmmakers and cinema. Films by Pedro Almodovar, Bradley Cooper, Anurag Kashyap, Aki Kaurismaki, Alice Rohrwacher, Angela Schanelec, Ken Loach, Wang Bing, Wim Wenders, and many other international filmmakers are also a part of the line-up.
