The period romance film first gained attention back in May, when there were reports of Prabhas and Hanu Raghavapudi for a project.
After the massive success of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali, Prabhas has emerged as a pan-India star. However, since the franchise, the actor has faced challenges with delivering a significant hit. Pinning high hopes on Om Raut’s Adipurush, Prabhas encountered backlash, primarily related to VFX and script concerns. Now, the actor is eyeing success with his upcoming projects, and one of the highly anticipated films is directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, known for Sita Ramam.
According to reports from Track Tollywood, Prabhas’ collaboration with Hanu Raghavapudi is set to be a grand cinematic venture with a whopping budget of Rs 300 crore. The film is rumoured to be an epic romantic tale set against the backdrop of World War 2, promising extensive use of high-end VFX.
Scheduled to kick off production next year, this ambitious project is expected to offer audiences a never-before-seen narrative of love. Hanu Raghavapudi is currently finalizing the script, aiming to create a unique cinematic experience.
It’s noteworthy that Prabhas’ previous venture, Radhe Shyam, also carried a budget of Rs 300 crore but faced disappointment at the box office, falling short of expectations.
In September, reports from Pinkvilla suggested that the film had roped in Sreeleela as the leading lady. The period romance film grabbed attention in May when rumours surfaced about Prabhas collaborating with Hanu Raghavapudi for a project. The actor reportedly found Hanu’s narration captivating. The film is bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers, and an official confirmation from the team is awaited.
In the meantime, Prabhas is gearing up for the release of his much-anticipated film Salaar, directed by Prashanth Neel, set to hit the silver screen on December 22. The film, featuring Shruti Haasan and Prithviraj Sukumaran, will face a clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki.
Prabhas also has Nag Ashwin’s science fiction action thriller, Kalki 2898 AD, in his pipeline. The star-studded cast includes Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Disha Patani, among others. The film is expected to grace cinemas in January next year.
