Poonam Dhillon recalled the time when Amitabh Bachchan treated her like a prop on her first day of shoot.

Recalling about her first day on the sets of Yash Chopra’s Trishul, Poona shared how Amitabh Bachchan treated her,”My first day of shoot was with Amitabh Bachchan and he had to pick me up in his arms. No one realised that it was my first day and I was shooting with such a big star, and such a good looking man was to pick me up in his arms. He was going about the shoot holding me in his arms. He was treating me like a prop,” she told Radio Nasha.
She also recounted, “Then finally the scene ended and he put me down and everybody just went on. Only Yash ji realised that it was the first shot of my career. And he came up to me and said ‘All the best kudiye. We were shooting in Delhi and a lot of fans would gather around. One of the women, who was there to see the shoot, she asked me, ‘How does it feel to be in Amitabh Bachchan’s arms?’ I said, ‘I didn’t realise that.’ I was just so scared and nervous.”
Poonam Dhillon aspired to become a doctor, however, ended up making a career in Bollywood. Poonam rose to fame after winning Miss India in 1977 when she was just 16. Later, she was noticed by one of the famous filmmakers and made her debut in the 1979 film Noorie against Farooq Shaikh. With her spellbound performances, she has successfully won the heart of so many audiences.
