Pathways Programme (KMSPP).The MoU was signed recently in the presence of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Education Minister BC Nagesh.
The initiative involves applying the best practices and techniques from leading ed-tech companies in government schools to build capacity among teachers, step up physical and digital infrastructure to achieve better learning outcomes, higher enrolments and retention of children, the YIPP said in a statement.
“This programme aims to create a replicable template for the schools under the National Education Policy (NEP) across the country,” Prakash said. About 10 organisations together will drive the programme by converging civil society efforts, he added.
The YIPP is engaging startup founders to make scalable solutions available for social causes. In this particular program, the team plans to transform 105 schools and its co-located anganwadis/preschools as “model schools” in the districts of Haveri (50), Tumakuru (25), Yadgir (25), Davanagere (5) by 2025.
Kamath and Prakash will be joining hands with Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, founders such as Sujeet Kumar (Udaan), Ravi Pai (Century Real Estate), Ankit Nagori (EatFit) and Arjun Santhanakrishnan (1Pharmacy) to provide a funding of Rs 50 crore over a period of three years for this ambitious school initiative. The first project in a series that YIPP will undertake where signatories, all under 45 years of age, will pledge a fourth of their wealth with a minimum of Rs1 crore per person per year.

Kamath said education is at the core of most solutions our society needs today as well as to address inequality. “YIPP through this program hopes to level the playing field and provide govt schools with the tools to take on private ones,” he said.
