Parineeti Chopra and Diljit Dosanjh are preparing for the release of their highly anticipated film Amar Singh Chamkila. They have been actively engaging their fans with sneak peeks. In their latest Instagram entry, Parineeti Chopra unveiled a video showcasing a picture collage of the real-life Amar Singh Chamkila and Amarjot with their on-screen counterparts, portrayed by Diljit Dosanjh and herself.
“Diljit and I have had the privilege of playing the roles of two legends, who changed the music landscape in India… recreating their famous images in the film and seeing them again today gives me goosebumps. Cannot wait to share the world of Chamkila with everyone. Wouldn’t have been the same without my jodidaar Diljit Dosanjh,” Parineeti Chopra wrote along with the video.
The post quickly garnered attention from fans and industry friends alike, with many commenting on the striking resemblance between the real and reel characters. One person couldn’t help but exclaim, “Goodness! That resemblance!” While another aptly noted, “Different but same same.”
After wrapping up the film, Parineeti Chopra reflected on her journey working on the movie and penned a heartfelt message. “I’m immensely thankful for Chamkila. Imtiaz Ali Sir, your direction was unparalleled; you truly led the ship with finesse. Your vision and passion set a new standard. Diljit Dosanjh, you were the perfect co-star, making every moment on set enjoyable and effortless. AR Rahman Sir, being musically directed by you – a thing of dreams. And the entire team who made this film. Shooting this film has topped any other film experience because I got to sing and act – 2 things I’m the most passionate about, so thank you,” she wrote.
Parineeti Chopra, who has been diligently keeping her fans updated, recently treated them to a behind-the-scenes video from the sets of the film, “How will I ever top this film experience? Spoilt forever… Chamkila.”
Imtiaz Ali’s Amar Singh Chamkila is a biographical film based on the life of the legendary artist and electrifying live-stage performer from Punjab, who gained immense popularity during the 1980s. Portraying the lead role is Diljit Dosanjh, while Parineeti Chopra takes on the character of his on-screen wife, Amarjot Kaur. The film will premiere on Netflix on April 12.
