Orry said that he didn’t know who Rihanna was for the longest time but he loved her.
Earlier this month, music sensation Rihanna visited Jamnagar in Gujarat to perform at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding festivities. As photos from the events started to surface online, Rihanna’s pictures with Orry caught everyone’s attention. However, Orry has now revealed that their exchange was planned and for the longest time, he did not know who Rihanna was.
Speaking at an India Today event, Orry said, “I love Rihanna. For the longest time, I did not know who she was. I read her Instagram name, which is ‘Badgalriri’, as ‘Badalgiri’. So, I have been following ‘Badalgiri’ on Instagram and I loved her.”
“My marketing trick, which I shouldn’t be revealing this early, is ‘OOO’ or ‘OOI’ – Objects of Orry/Objects of Interest. I will make a little museum one day,” Orry said. “In my outfit, there will always be a talking point. I knew Rihanna was coming. I knew Rihanna would be looking, and I had to have a beautiful Object Of Interest in my head,” he added.
Orry said, “I wore these giant dandelion earrings, knowing she would see them, and rightfully, she did. She said, ‘I would like the earring please.’ I was like, ‘Of course!’ And I told my friend, ‘Take out your phone. This is the moment I wore this earring for.’ Took out the phone. Gave her the earring. Seven minutes later, she has lost the earring and has come back for the other one, and I pinned it on her top.”
Further, speaking about the festivities at Jamnagar, Orry said, “Jamnagar was the most unreal place in the world. It was very well thought of. Vantara was absolutely amazing. I like to be at every single party. I don’t want to be at a pity party. I want to be at the coolest party.”
The pre-wedding festivities at Jamnagar were a star-studded affair with big names like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor in attendance.
