Amogh Kumar Gupta, the director of Pravek Kalp Pvt Ltd, made the investment in Snooplay, a Delhi-based tech startup, founded in 2019 by 31-year-old Aanchal Mahajan and 33-year-old Brij Raj Singh.
Snooplay has 150 domestic and international brands listed on its platform and aims to add another 500-600 sellers in the next three months, the company said in a statement. It also plans to exponentially increase the product range for its customers in India and abroad.
Snooplay is a discovery platform that aims to help people find the right toy or game, based on their personalities, interests, skills and developmental goals.
“At Snooplay, we understand that the problem is not searching for the right product, but actually knowing what the right product is,” said Aanchal Mahajan, the CEO of Snooplay. The platform uses AI-powered recommendation tool and informative videos to aid the discovery, she said.
Its offerings are targeted at kids as well as adults and those with special needs.

The company aims to tap into the government’s efforts at turning India into a global export hub for toys. A report by the IMARC, a market research company, stated that the Indian toy sector will cross the $3.3-billion mark by 2024, rising 13.3% annually between 2019 and 2024.
“We believe the Indian toys and games industry can easily become one of the biggest globally and therefore there is a need to have a dedicated platform such as Snooplay that brings together all stakeholders in the toys and games industry,” said Brij Raj Singh, the COO of the company.
