Odyssey Technologies brings out digital signing extension for Income Tax, GST & MCA

Chennai: Software product development company Odyssey Technologies on Thursday said its product ‘xorkeesign G2C’ will help users digitally sign GST and income tax returns for all classes of assessees, including corporate taxpayers and would help register the digital certificates of company executives with the MCA portal as well.

xorkeesign G2C is a browser extension that stays invisible until a user accesses the Income tax, GST or MCA portals and then helps the users sign their returns with no additional tool requirement. The company said this is different from the default tax filing mechanism wherein a user installs different signature software for each site and with each software having its own pre-requisites.

“The ease of use alone justifies using xorkeesign G2C in place of the default mechanisms,” B. Robert Raja, Managing Director, Odyssey Technologies said. “I am told that users find xorkeesign G2C simpler and faster than even the Aadhaar OTP based e-verification. As GST returns are due every month this would save significant time for all taxpayers and consultants.”

The product works on platforms like Microsoft Windows, Mac OS and Ubuntu and browsers like Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Mozilla Firefox. The Chennai-based company also said that xorkeesign G2C also addresses security concerns like typing in the user’s password on government portals when they don’t even need it. “xorkeesign G2C also enables every user with a DSC (Digital Signature Certificate) to sign in an entirely self-reliant manner keeping the DSC key control and possession with himself at all times,” the company said in a statement.

“We have plans to extend the usage of xorkeesign G2C to cover all Government interfaces like EPF (Employees Provident Fund), Trademarks registry, DGFT (Directorate General of Foreign Trade) and Customs. We will also simplify tender signing on Government portals as well as provide enhancements of processes to State and Local Government interfaces,” Raja said.
