Judaai, a romantic drama starring Anil Kapoor, Urmila Matondkar and Sridevi, released at cinemas on February 1, 1997. Raj Kanwar had directed this film. The premise of the movie was predictable, but the audience loved it for the cast’s performances and songs. There is an interesting fact associated with this film. As per the IMDb, Juhi Chawla and Karisma Kapoor were roped in to play the role of Jhanhvi Sahni in the film. Both declined to essay this role and it eventually went to Urmila. She also got a nomination under this category for the Zee Cine Awards.
The star cast has some fond memories associated with this movie. Anil, the male lead in Judaai, talked about one when this film completed 26 years. He shared the poster of this film on his Instagram story and wrote, “The decision to do Judaai was not an easy one for me at the time, but I’m so glad that I chose to do it! I was paired with two beautiful leading ladies – Sri and Urmila and I still remember how nervous I was, dancing with Sri Ji and Urmila as they both are such incredible dancers! 26 years later today, when I think about the film and all the memories I made I always have a smile on my face!”.
Judaai’s ensemble cast comprised Paresh Rawal, Saeed Jaffrey, Farida Jalal, Johnny Lever, and others. The iconic music duo of Nadeem Saifi and the late Shravan Kumar Rathod composed the music for this movie. Mujhe Ek Pal Chain Na Aaye is one of the hit songs from this film.
