Amitabh Bachchan’s Grandson Agastya Nanda is all set to make his debut with Zoya Akhtar’s much awaited The Archies. The film is all set to release on December 7. Ahead of the same, the young star kid recently opened up about his character in the film and also revealed his biggest inspiration from his illustrious family.
Agastya who is all set to portray Archie Andrews in Zoya Akhtar’s film was asked how similar he is to his character. He then stated, “Something that we do share in common is our love for music. Archie loves music. It has the ability to make you feel and deal with a lot of emotions and that’s where we are kind of similar”.
The makers unveiled his character poster, describing him as ‘thoda boy next door, thoda dil ka chor’. Have a look at the same :
Speaking about his role model, Agastya added, “My role model is my dadi, Ritu Nanda. She isn’t with us anymore, but I have always aspired to be like her. She just had this warmth about her that if you were around her, you could feel like you could do anything. I wish to be like that, to give people around me all that positivity and love.”
Coming back to The Archies, Agastya recently told PTI that he couldn’t have asked for a better team of people to work with than ‘The Archies’. “These guys over here have become my best friends. And we hang out a bit too much. It’s been a great experience,” he said.
The 22-year-old also shared why he doesn’t have an Instagram account. “I’m just not good with Instagram personally, but never say never. Plus, my sister is my greatest PR. She posts everything that I need,” said Agastya, adding he has a secret profile on the social media app to “watch reels”.
The Archies also marks the acting debut of superstar Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan, and Sridevi and film producer Boney Kapoor’s daughter Khushi Kapoor.
Zoya also serves as a writer on the project, along with filmmaker Reema Kagti, and Ayesha Devitre. Reema was all praise for the young cast. “They’ve been wonderful. You will see why each one just needed to be the character that they are. Nobody else could have done it…The enthusiasm and hard work is just tremendous. And I mean, you’ll see, I know I keep saying that. But this is something to be seen, how much work these kids have put in and what they’ve managed to create,” she said.
The series is slated to release on Netflix, on December 7.
