Magnite annual sales cross 30,000 for the third consecutive year; total domestic sales crossed the 1 lakh milestone in January.
The Nissan Magnite compact SUV has achieved a milestone – the brand sold over 30,000 units for the third consecutive year. The Japanese carmaker has also announced that the Magnite crossed the 1,00,000 sales milestone (domestic) in January this year.
- Magnite sales in FY2023-24 were 30,146 units
- Over 30,000 Magnites exported to markets abroad
- Magnite facelift arriving by the end of this year
Nissan sold a total of 30,146 units of the Magnite in India in FY2023-24, which is slightly lower than the 32,546 units sold in the preceding fiscal year, and the record 33,905 units sold in FY2021-22.
Additionally, the company has also managed to export over 30,000 units of the Magnite to foreign markets since its debut back in December 2020. The compact SUV is exported to countries like Indonesia, South Africa, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Uganda, and so on.
Interestingly, the Magnite is currently the only Nissan car on sale in India, and has been instrumental in turning around the carmaker’s fortunes in the country. Priced from Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom), the Nissan Magnite is the joint most affordable SUV in the country, along with its cousin the Renault Kiger. It can be had with either a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine making 72hp or a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol unit that puts out 100hp.
Nissan Magnite facelift in the works
Nissan is working on a mid-life refresh for the Magnite, which could debut in India later this year. A camouflaged test mule of the car was spied on test recently, hinting that the SUV could be in the final stages of its development. Changes could include visual enhancements, new features as well as some additional safety tech. It will continue to rival the likes of Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza, as well as the upcoming Mahindra XUV 3XO, apart from other similarly priced SUVs.
