“Biased results can have a higher negative impact on the business than getting a positive impact,” he explained. “So you have to have a governance structure.”

He said it all boils down to using the right data set for training.
“So (it is) extremely important to have the right data management strategy because the datasets that are being used are extremely big and large and there is always a cyber threat,” Gupta said. “There are clear data management strategies that need to be identified. Because if the right data set is not used for training, the AI model, the outcomes would be either biased or they would be incorrect.”
He added that as newer technologies come into being it is important for organisations like Dell to bring in innovation to the fore which is what is being done with Generative AI. The company said it was introducing new offerings to help customers build Gen AI models on-premises to accelerate improved outcomes and drive new levels of intelligence.
The new Dell Generative AI Solutions expand on the American company’s Project Helix announcement that took place in May and span IT infrastructure, PCs, and professional services to simplify the adoption of full-stack GenAI with large language models (LLM).

“We have announced a bunch of new offerings that help our customers quickly and securely build generative models on-prem, as well as off-prem to accelerate outcomes and drive new levels of automation.”He pointed out that India is a very strategic market, not just for talent, but even for opportunities. He added that the server market in India grew by a whopping 36.2% last year and is projected to continue the same with the introduction of new technologies. “We did this innovation index recently, and 59% of the customers in India have shown their interest to embark on deploying AI in their ecosystem,” Gupta said.
Dell continues to invest both internally and externally. “We worked with organizations such as Nvidia, Intel, AMD, not just those even independent software vendors like H20.ai, organizations that can help us bring the entire gamut and suite of products that will allow customers to have a full stack of offerings through which they can get their outcome.”
Gupta also said the company was also reaching out to start-ups who are exploring the usage of generative AI in their processes and helping them understand the use cases and the next steps in implementing Gen AI.
