Myntra to create 27,500 seasonal jobs for its End of Reason Sale

New Delhi: Flipkart-owned online fashion and beauty retailer Myntra is creating 27,500 seasonal jobs for its upcoming 16th edition of its End of Reason Sale (EORS), which starts on June 11 and lasts six days.

The company is hiring temporary workers for delivery, warehouse and customer support, among others.

The total temporary jobs being created for EORS includes jobs for over 2,000 women and 300 differently abled people who will be part of the warehouse team, chief executive Nandita Sinha told ET. “We are creating the highest seasonal job opportunities ever this EORS,” she said.

The company hired about 11,000 people in temp roles for the last festive season sale held in September, ET reported earlier.

The additional workforce being hired is for roles across functions such as sorting, grading and packing across key major hubs, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata.

Myntra is also ramping up its customer support service by adding over 1,400 executives, Sinha said.

The company is hiring 4,000 executives for delivery alone. “Over 85% of deliveries during the EORS are expected to be fulfilled by the specially trained Kirana partners,” she said.

Myntra is expanding its MENSA (Kirana, or corner store) network by about 25% from the previous July edition, taking the total Kirana store count to over 21,000, said Sinha.

Over 5,000 brands and small and medium scale sellers are participating in the event.

“We expect about a 1.5X increase in orders over the previous edition. To meet the heightened demand, Myntra is working towards creating employment opportunities for about 27,500 people in temporary roles across the country,” Sinha said.

In addition, Myntra is also incentivising its frontline force with multiple perks, including spot and attendance bonuses, over and above the regular salaries, she said.

Myntra also recently launched M-Express, which guarantees delivery of products within 48 hours.
