The first song from the Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur starrer Family Star – Kalyani Vaccha Vacchaa was released by the makers recently. Composed by Gopi Sundar, the song has been set against the backdrop of their wedding.
At the song launch, Vijay and Mrunal danced to the song’s beats. Vijay looked charming in an off-white kurta paired with a dhoti, while Mrunal looked beautiful in a matching salwar suit. Their chemistry was palpable as they danced, winning over their fans. The video is now going viral on social media with fans “shipping” their jodi. Check out the video here:
The song has been on the receiving end of flak for showing extravagant wedding decor for a middle class family. At an event, when asked about it, Vijay said, “I don’t understand, are people genuinely confused or are they just looking to troll us?” He also explained why the song was included, saying it’s part of a dream sequence commonly seen in movies. He added, “We have all grown up seeing lavish dream sequences in films. No one here is stupid enough to make a film where a hero asks the heroine to pay money for petrol (referring to a dialogue in the trailer) but has a lavish wedding.”
Another single titled Madhuramu Kadha from the film was released on Holi. Before that, Mrunal was seen visiting the Sri Yellamma Pochamma temple, one of the oldest in Hyderabad, with her team and posing for photos with fans.
