Mona Singh opens up on casting couch, says such things not only happen in the entertainment world but in other industries too.
Several actors have repeatedly opened up about facing casting couch experiences in the showbiz world, latest on the list is the Laal Singh Chaddha actress Mona Singh. In a recent interview, Mona revealed that she has also faced ‘uncomfortable’ situations in the past but mentioned that it was long back when she used to travel from Pune to Bombay for auditions.
“I have. But that was, like, at the time, even before I got ‘Jassi…’. It was the time when I used to come from Pune to Bombay for auditions. I did meet a couple of people who made me feel uncomfortable and really weird and horrible,” Mona told India Today.
“I think women, however naive or vulnerable or whatever age they are of, their instinct is never wrong. That gut is never wrong. So, I, I just knew that I’m in a very uncomfortable situation and (I thought) how do I get out of here and save myself? That was the only thing going on in my mind,” the actress added.
Mona also explained that such things not only happen in the entertainment world but in other industries too. She also shared a motivating message and urged all to ‘pursue dreams’ keeping everything aside. “It is just that such things should never discourage you from trying to do what you want to do. So, yes, it did not discourage me from entering the industry. I still pursued my dream. And now, of course, it still exists. And not only in this industry. It’s everywhere, and it’s become more of a personal choice,” she concluded.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Mona Singh was recently seen in Kafas. The show is an adaptation of the British mini-series Dark Money and explores the dark side of the film industry. It revolves around a 15-year-old actor who gets sexually abused by a superstar, whose legal team then silences the former’s parents in return of Rs 10 crore.
