Nearly three years since it launched its first product in India – the Hector – MG India has crossed the one lakh sales milestone mark. The Hector and Hector Plus also happen to be the automaker’s bestselling product in India, selling over 80,000 units since launch.

MG India’s 1 lakh sales milestone
The automaker set up its manufacturing facility in Halol, Gujarat and began production in May 2019. MG India currently has four vehicles in its portfolio – Hector, ZS EV, Gloster and Astor.
In March, MG India had topped the JD Power 2021 customer sales satisfaction study as well as the Customer Service Index. With the Astor, MG India introduced Car-as-a-Platform (CaaP) service that allows usage of streaming applications, voice as well as concierge support services through the in-car infotainment system and mobile phone applications.

MG India’s Future Plans
Earlier this year, MG India launched the ZS EV facelift and is also working on a new affordable EV that’s slated for an early 2023 launch. Meanwhile, MG India has also partnered with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to expand its EV infrastructure in the country. The brand has an annual production capacity of 80,000 vehicles and is looking to ramp up production this year.
