Mercedes-Benz AMG GT6 concept: what is it?
First featured in the Gran Turismo 6 video game back in 2013, followed by its showcase at multiple motor events, the AMG GT6 concept has now made its way to India. The concept pays homage to the iconic 300 SL racing car, featuring a reinterpretation of its radiator grille with a central star. Unlike the traditional louvres, this modern grille is equipped with LEDs. Additionally, the AMG GT6 concept boasts a front-hinged bonnet with an LED headlamp setup.Â
The low-slung body, gull-wing doors hinging upwards from the roof and turbine-like chrome finished centre locking wheels add to its aggressive aesthetics. The rear of the concept showcases a boat tail design with an integrated diffuser and spoiler that extends outwards. Additionally, a narrow LED strip runs horizontally behind the car positioned between the eight exhaust tailpipe setup. Interestingly, this concept was Bruce Wayne’s ride in the 2017 Justice League movie.
This 11-year old concept has also previewed a number of new AMG GT models from the new Mercedes-AMG GT to the SL 55. Under the hood, the AMG GT6 concept is powered by a 585 hp, 800Nm V8 engine, similar to the one seen in the AMG E 63 S.
