Between the Tata Punch, Citroen C3 and Maruti Wagon R which fit the budget, here’s what we’d recommend.
I want a new car which is under Rs 7 lakh on-road, and will only be used to ferry my old parents. The car will be chauffeur driven and will only be used for short distances. Features and frills aren’t important, but I want a car which is easy to get in and out of, has good suspension and comfortable seats.

Answer: The base variant of the Tata Punch is the one that should appear on the top of your list. With wide-opening doors, elevated seating and an absorbent suspension, the Punch fits your requirements to the T. You may also consider the entry-level Citroen C3, which offers better value than the Punch and is a great alternative. However, keep its miniscule support network in mind before making your decision. Also, if it’s a no-frills hatchback you prefer, you can’t go wrong with the Maruti Wagon R.
