The updates will be made available to new and existing customers through OTA updates.
Maruti Suzuki has rolled out new features on the Baleno, Ertiga and the XL6, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto being the most important one. Maruti has also made ESC (electronic stability control) a standard fitment on most models. Late last year, Maruti had rolled out similar updates on the Brezza compact SUV.Â
- Baleno, Ertiga and XL6 get wireless phone connectivity
- All models also get new turn-by-turn navigation feature
- Connectivity features to be made available via OTA updates
The connectivity features will be made available to existing as well as new customers via over-the-air (OTA) updates that can be installed via the SmartPlay Pro Sync app on their smartphones or from Maruti Suzuki’s website.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno: what’s new?
The Baleno is now available with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on the higher-spec Zeta and Alpha trims. Additionally, Maruti has also added a new turn-by-turn navigation feature on the head-up display for the top-spec Alpha trim, with this feature being displayed on the MID on all trims. Prices for the Baleno currently range between Rs 6.56 lakh-9.83 lakh (ex-showroom).
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, XL6: what’s new?
Like the Baleno, the XL6 also benefits from wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on the top Alpha and Alpha+ trims, while the Ertiga only gets it on the top-spec ZXi+ trim. Since the Ertiga and XL6 do not get head-up displays, the turn-by-turn navigation feature has only been made available on the MID in the instrument cluster. Both MPVs have also received a premium acoustic tuning for the Arkamys sound system, which will also be made available via OTA updates. The Ertiga is currently priced between Rs 8.49 lakh-12.93 lakh, while the XL6 is priced between Rs 11.41 lakh-14.51 lakh (ex-showroom).
ESC standard on Baleno, Ertiga and Swift
In another important update, Maruti has also made ESC a standard safety feature across most of its models. All trims of the Baleno, Ertiga and Swift now come with ESC. The Baleno and Ertiga, additionally, also get a hill-hold feature on all trims, while the Swift only gets it on the AMT variants – previously ESC with hill-hold was only offered on the higher trims of each model.
