“Thank You Wall Street Journal and my fellow innovators for a wonderful evening, especially Timothee Chalamet for presenting me with the award for Innovation in Film,” wrote Martin Scorsese after being honoured with Innovation In Film Award.
Acclaimed American filmmaker Martin Scorsese needs no introduction. In his illustrious career spanning decades, the 80-year-old has delivered some hard-hitting movies including Taxi Driver, The Age of Innocence, Speilberg, The Aviator, Casino, Shutter Island, and The Wolf Of Wall Street among others. Honouring his unparalleled achievements and creativity in the entertainment circuit, Martin Scorsese was bestowed with the prestigious Innovation In Film Award at the Wall Street Journal-hosted (WSJ) 13th annual Innovator Awards. The star-studded event was organised at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City on November 1. Now, in a heartwarming Instagram post, Martin Scorsese has expressed his gratitude to everyone for his big win at the award ceremony.
“Thank You Wall Street Journal and my fellow innovators for a wonderful evening, especially Timothee Chalamet for presenting me with the award for Innovation in Film,” wrote Martin Scorsese. Along with the post, the filmmaker also dropped a bunch of pictures with other Hollywood celebrities who graced the occasion. Dressed in a charcoal-grey suit, Scorsese was seen spreading his arms and flashing a joyous laugh in the first picture. He also gave us a glimpse of the award, before moving on to share a group picture with celebrities including Kylie Jenner, American singer-songwriter SZA, and fashion designer Jerry Lorenzo, among others.
Call Me By Your Name actor Timothee Chalamet who was also the presenter of the WSJ Award ceremony posed for a photo with Martin Scorsese in the next slide, followed by WSJ’s editor Sarah Ball. We even got a glimpse of Martin Scorsese sharing the same frame with his family — wife Helen Morris and daughter Francesca Scorsese who graced the gala night. The last photograph captured the filmmaker taking centre stage and giving a speech.
As soon as the pictures surfaced on the internet, fans congratulated Martin Scorsese on his win and showered their love on the filmmaker. While his daughter called her father to be the “cutest” Jerry Lorenzo wrote, “Was so humbled to meet you sir”. “Congrats Uncle Marty! Cutest indeed” came a lovely remark from a fan. “So well deserved sir,” quipped a third individual.
On the work front, Martin Scorsese’s last directorial was Killers of the Flower Moon which was released in the theaters on October 27. The crime drama stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Lily Gladstone, Jesse Plemons, Tantoo Cardinal, and John Lithgow in important roles.
