Unlike the old Thar, the new one also gets 2WD variants that’s ideal for regular use at an affordable price.
I own a Thar 700 (Limited Edition), and I am planning to upgrade it to the latest one, but I am not sure about it? I am not into extreme off-roading and use it only for normal purposes.

Autocar India says: The new Thar is far better as an everyday car than the previous-generation Thar you have. So, for your normal usage, the new Thar will offer far better comfort, practicality, refinement and driving pleasure than the Thar you own. In fact, as an off-roader, the old Thar is in some ways more capable than the new one. Hence, we feel the new Thar will be a logical and appropriate upgrade for you.
Mahindra recently also launched new 2WD versions of the Thar – in both petrol and diesel guise  –that are priced between Rs 9.99 – 13.49 lakh. Meanwhile, the 4×4 variants are currently priced between Rs 13.59 – 16.29 lakh, both prices ex-showroom, India.Â
